74/366: let’s lift bulbs

Under the standard maple tree the daffodil bulbs had not been divided since planting them there over ten years ago. Suddenly it seemed as if there were an explosion of bulbs, as there were a number of exposed ones sitting above the soil line. Partly due to the natural soil erosion on the slope of the mound, as they multiply they take up more room in the ground.

Because it is fairly shady and other plants have become better established, I deemed it time to remove them all and will plant them elsewhere. That location is yet to be decided, but I am happy with the yield and moreover, they are special because my Dad gave them to me years ago. In his memory they will live on.

  1. Spring is just around the corner….in this corner of the world. Looking Forward to seeing the Spring Flowers again, popping out of the ground after this dismal winter. Liking the fact that you are saving and replanting in memory of your Dad.
