81/366: yesterday’s garden today

With every passing year the garden evolves. Sometimes, a plant dies and has to be replaced. An overgrown garden may have to be severely cut back. If we have misjudged the size to which it will grow, this may involve removal of certain plants and trees.

It’s ironic that you spend the first fifteen years in a place planting and building up, and then the next fifteen chopping down, replacing and pruning!
